This piece is the seventh in my "ghosts and shadows" series, a series that overlaps images of children with images of my grandparents' and uncle's farm. The farm was a haven growing up. In "personal rapture," in addition to a faint image of a field and fence from the farm, another haven from childhood presents itself. The beach scene here is one I saw often as I walked North Myrtle Beach in the evenings. Every summer my family went to the beach and stayed close to the home seen here. These walks, along with the feel and sound of the waves, was healing then and continues to be now. A rapture of sorts. One that awakens the playful, joyful child inside.
